WT611-Advanced Swag Engineering with Ann K. Johnson

2 Day Program

The swag pattern is an engineering work of art, but it is often the most intimidating element of a window treatment design. Referencing Ann K. Johnson’s books The Professional Workroom Handbook of Swags, Volumes 1 & 2, Ann demystifies the swag pattern. The course begins with the analytical discussion of the six basic swag styles. For each variation, students calculate dimensions, draft patterns and drape them on to vertical pinning surfaces. With guided support, students build general patterning skills and learn to troubleshoot swag challenges. In addition students learn to design and draft patterns for asymetrical swags. As a result of this course, each student returns to their workroom with numerous self-drafted swag patterns and the critical skills and confidence to tackle swags of any shape or size. replica handbags
